“Fix me a plate” is a painting from a recent show that I did where the theme was, “Breaking Bread.” 

Some of my fondest memories of breaking bread are from my childhood. We’d have family gatherings at our maternal grandparents house in the summer. There would be so many people invited, but there always seemed to be those who would order me to fix them a plate. These people were able bodied and it was annoying. My mom would give me “the look.” Just do it she’d say. Ha!
